Several rounds of showers & storms expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. Up first is the on-going activity this morning, with additional showers & storms finding us into tonight. A strong area of low pressure will press through the Lower Mississippi Valley, before marching north tonight into tomorrow. This will bring a revamp of showers & storms tonight, with another wave of moisture midday tomorrow. All activity should end by Friday morning, setting up sunny skies and warming temperatures this weekend. A few strong storms can't be ruled out tonight through Thursday, with damaging wind gusts the primary threat and an isolated area of spin-up the secondary (and lesser) threat. Increasing sunshine expected throughout the day today, but temperatures will remain chilly. The good news, warmer air is on the way along with sunny skies. Highs Saturday should peak in the lower 60s, with around 70 degrees expected Sunday and into early next week. Our next rain chances come Sunday night and through early next week. Another note: if you have started on planting outdoor vegetation, be sure to get those covered up tonight. Lows will fall into the low or mid 30s, where patchy frost could kill or injure some plants.
